H & R Block Drops Plans to Acquire TaxAct

H & R Block had plans to acquire TaxAct, a leading tax preparation software company, until a district court judge in Washington, D. C. blocked the plans. The tax preparation company’s plans were thwarted when the U.S. Justice Department filed suit, claiming the move would be too anti-competitive.
